Hale a Candidate for 2015 Senior CLASS Award

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – LSU third baseman Conner Hale is one of 10 finalists for the 2015 Senior CLASS Award. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.

Hale, a native of New Port Richey, Fla., is a sports administration major at LSU. He is the Tigers’ leader in RBI this season with 43, and he is batting .326 with 13 doubles, two triples, four homers and 32 runs.

Hale began the 2015 season with a 16-game hitting streak, and he was named SEC Player of the Week on March 9 as he helped lead LSU to three straight wins in the Houston College Classic, batting .400 (4-for-10) with one double, one homer, five RBI and two runs scored.

Nationwide fan voting begins immediately to help select the winner. Fans are encouraged to vote on the Senior CLASS Award website through June 8. Fan votes will be combined with media and Division I head coaches’ votes to determine the winner.

This year’s Senior CLASS Award winner will be announced during the 2015 College World Series in June. For more information on all of the finalists, visit seniorCLASSaward.com.
