Two Among Pitcher of the Year Candidates

BATON ROUGE, La. – LSU pitchers Alex Lange and Jesse Stallings have been named to the watch list for the 2015 National Pitcher of the Year Award.

The award will be presented during the National College Baseball Hall of Fame’s Night of Champions on June 29 in Lubbock, Texas. Former LSU pitcher Aaron Nola won the National Pitcher of the Year award last season.

Lange, a freshman from Lee’s Summit, Mo., is 7-0 this season with a 1.86 ERA in 63 innings. He has recorded 28 walks and 72 strikeouts, and opponents are batting .224 against him. Lange is No. 2 in the SEC in ERA, and he is No. 4 in the league in strikeouts.

Stallings, a redshirt freshman from Colfax, La. leads the SEC this season with 11 saves. He is 1-1 with a 2.10 ERA in 25.2 innings, and he has recorded 10 walks and 20 strikeouts.

Stallings is No. 5 in the SEC in appearances with 22.
