BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s tennis team will open the 2015 NCAA Championships against UT-San Antonio in Waco, Texas, next weekend, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The winner of LSU (17-8, 6-6 SEC) and UTSA (17-8) will face the winner of No. 2 national seed Baylor and Bryant.
In LSU’s most recent NCAA tournament appearance in 2012-13, the Tigers defeated Stanford before falling to No. 12 Pepperdine in Malibu.
LSU is enjoying a strong season in which they have accumulated 17 wins for the first time since 2007, when they went 18-7 and finished the season ranked No. 15.
LSU has a 2-0 record all time against UTSA with the last meeting coming in 2003.
