AUBURN, Ala. – After another close call on the road in Gainesville, the LSU men’s tennis team continues their second-to-last road trip of the season as they head to Auburn for a 1 p.m. CDT showdown on Sunday.
Head coach Jeff Brown said establishing an early lead with the doubles point will be key for LSU (15-5, 5-4 SEC) against Auburn (14-9, 2-7 SEC). LSU is 15-2 in matches where they win the doubles point this season.
“We are looking for a fast start [on Sunday,]” Brown said. “We will focus from the beginning. We plan to work hard for the doubles point. After that we will adjust accordingly.”
Brown said the goal is the same as it has been all season – to have a chance to win at the end of the match.
Auburn will be returning home after a tough 0-4 loss on the road at the hands of No. 8 Texas A&M University on Friday. Auburn is lead by their lone senior, No. 78 Lukas Ollert who will likely face No. 75 LSU sophomore Jordan Daigle on court one.
