GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The LSU men’s tennis team (15-4, 5-3 SEC) will look for their second conference road win of the season on Friday when they travel to Gainesville to take on the No. 16 Florida Gators (10-6, 5-3 SEC) at 4 p.m. CDT.

The match offers the Tigers the opportunity to notch their third top-25 victory of the season. LSU already earned victories over No. 17 San Diego and No. 18 Vanderbilt.

“The focus is on playing our best and continuing to have a chance at the end of the match,” said head coach Jeff Brown. “We have done that all year long and it has worked the majority of the time.”

The Tigers are no strangers to close matches as two of their last three came down to the wire. After escaping a road contest against Alabama with a win, LSU returned home to drop a close one to No. 14 Ole Miss.

Coach Brown expects the same competition from Florida and believes his team is stronger after experiencing so many close matches.

“Florida has had a good year,” Brown said. “It will be an entertaining match.”
