BATON ROUGE – LSU gymnasts Rheagan Courville, Ashleigh Gnat, Lloimincia Hall and Jessie Jordan were honored as 2015 regular season All-Americans, the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W) announced Friday.
This marked the third season in which gymnasts could earn regular season All-America honors. All-Americans were determined by a gymnast’s regional qualifying score (RQS) in the final GymInfo rankings released on Monday.
Gymnasts ranked Nos. 1-8 nationally on each event and the all-around received first-team status, and the gymnasts ranked Nos. 9-16 were honored as second-team selections.
Courville earned first-team All-America status on vault, bars and the all-around. She ranks No. 3 nationally on vault with a 9.950 RQS, No. 3 on bars with a 9.940 RQS and No. 4 in the all-around with a 39.555 RQS.
Jordan tallied first-team All-America honors on beam and the all-around. She ranks No. 3 with a 9.920 average on beam, and she ranks fifth in the all-around with a 39.550 RQS.
Hall picked up first-team All-America recognition on floor where she ranks No. 1 nationally with a 9.975 RQS.
Gnat earned second-team All-America honors on floor and the all-around. She ranks 10th nationally on floor with a 9.930 RQS, and she is 13th in the all-around with a 39.450 RQS.
Courville increased her school-record total to 19 All-America honors, including 11 in the regular season.
With her two honors Jordan is now an eight-time All-American, which includes five regular season marks.
Hall is up to five All-America honors in her career, including three in the regular season.
Gnat is now a four-time All-American after earning the two regular season honors.
LSU has produced 25 regular season All-America honors in the three seasons the distinction has been awarded.
Gymnasts still have a chance to earn All-America honors during the semifinal round of the NCAA Championships on April 17 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Overall, LSU now has 154 total All-America honors in program history.
No. 4 LSU (19-2) is back in action on April 4 when the Tigers compete at the NCAA Ames Regional for the right to advance to the NCAA Championships. At the regional LSU will take on No. 9 Nebraska, No. 16 Denver, Washington, Michigan State and the host Iowa State.
