UPDATE: Due to rain, this match was postponed to April 12 at 1 p.m. CT.

STARKVILLE, Miss. – The No. 23 LSU men’s tennis team (14-3, 3-2 SEC) travel to Starkville on Sunday to take on the No. 35 Mississippi State Bulldogs (12-5, 3-2 SEC) as the team looks for their second consecutive Southeastern Conference road victory.

A win would also mark the second time this season that the Tigers notch four consecutive victories. LSU won eight consecutive matches between Jan. 31 and March 1.

“The guys are looking forward to a big-time, high-level match,” said head coach Jeff Brown. “Everyday in the SEC is an opportunity to find out what you are made of.”

The Bulldogs have won three of their last five matches, including a 4-0 road win against No. 51 Auburn on March 15. Mississippi State features a pair of ranked singles players in No. 105 senior Tassilo Schmid and No. 112 sophomore Florian Lakat.

Lakat and freshman Julian Cash are also ranked No. 46 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association in doubles play.

“Every team presents unique challenges,” Brown said. “You have to thrive on the adversity to overcome it.”

Match time is set for 1 p.m. CDT on Sunday at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre.
