BATON ROUGE – For the second time this season LSU senior gymnast Lloimincia Hall earned Southeastern Conference Specialist of the Week recognition, the league office announced Tuesday.
Hall shared the honor with Florida’s Bridget Sloan.
A native of Dallas, Texas, Hall played a key role in No. 3 LSU’s tri-meet victory at Centenary and against New Hampshire.
She earned a perfect 10.0 on floor to win the 30th floor title of her career, and she added a 9.875 on vault and 9.80 on beam.
It makes back-to-back weeks with a perfect 10 for Hall on floor, and it is the seventh 10 of her career. She is one of only two gymnasts in the nation with a perfect 10 on floor this season, but Hall is the only one who has earned two 10s in the event.
Her score helped LSU (13-1, 7-0 SEC) post the team’s highest floor total on the road this season with a 49.575 that also ranks as the highest road floor score of any SEC team this season.
It marks the eighth SEC weekly award of Hall’s career and the fifth time she has been named specialist of the week.
LSU will open postseason competition Saturday when the Tigers take part in the SEC Championship in Duluth, Ga. LSU is the No. 2 seed and will compete in session two beginning at 5 p.m. CT Saturday in the Arena at Gwinnett Center.
