ATHENS, Ga. – The No. 28 LSU men’s tennis team (11-2, 2-1 SEC) will travel to Athens on Sunday to take on the No. 4 Georgia Bulldogs (10-2, 3-0 SEC) at noon where the Tigers will look to avoid losing back-to-back matches for the first time this season.

LSU was on an eight-match winning streak before falling to No. 40 South Carolina 4-1 in Columbia on Friday. Despite the loss, the Tigers are still enjoying their best 13-match start since 2000.

“Should be some great tennis [on Sunday],” said head coach Jeff Brown. “It is a great venue with a ton of history and we look forward to competing at our best.”

The match will feature seven ranked singles players as well as four ranked doubles teams across both lineups. The Bulldogs have all three of their doubles teams ranked in the top 60.

Georgia is fresh off of a 4-1 victory over No. 10 Texas A&M on Friday. The win brought the Bulldogs to six ranked victories on the season, including four wins over teams in the top 16.

LSU hopes to get back to their winning ways on the doubles court on Sunday. The team is a perfect 11-0 when taking the first point and 0-2 when surrendering it.
