BATON ROUGE — Following its third-straight three-game weekend sweep, the LSU baseball team held its position in many of the national polls.
LSU (10-1) has home games this week on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. CT against Stephen F. Austin (4-8) and Wednesday at 3 p.m. against Grambling (2-8) before taking to the road for the first time on Friday for the Houston College Classic at Minute Maid Park.

Notes on the Tigers
LSU extended its win streak to seven games as the Tigers posted four victories in four games last week … LSU recorded a three-game sweep of Princeton over the weekend, outscoring the Ivy League squad, 25-8, and batting .337 (35-for-104) in the series with eight doubles, three triples and two homers … sophomore outfielder Jake Fraley batted .467 (7-for-15) last week, as he collected two doubles, three triples, six RBI, four runs, a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .467 on-base percentage … he provided the game-winning two-run triple in the bottom of the eighth inning in LSU’s 9-8 victory over Southeastern Louisiana on Thursday … in LSU’s three-game sweep last weekend over Princeton, Fraley hit .400 (4-for-10) with one double, two triples, four RBI, four runs and two stolen bases … he had two triples and three RBI in the Tigers’ 7-2 win over Princeton on Saturday, becoming just the 13th player in LSU history to collect two triples in one game … on the year, Fraley is hitting .385 (10-for-26) with two doubles, three triples, six RBI, seven runs and three steals … junior outfielder Mark Laird batted .400 (6-for-15) in four games last week with one double, one RBI, five runs and one stolen base … Laird hit .455 (5-for-11) in the Princeton series with one double, one RBI and four runs … sophomore third baseman Danny Zardon batted .444 (4-for-9) against Princeton with one RBI and one run, and junior shortstop Alex Bregman hit .400 (4-for-10) in the series with one triple, one homer, three RBI, four runs and four stolen bases senior infielder Conner Hale has hit safely in all 11 of LSU’s games this season … Hale is hitting .348 (16-for-46) on the year with four doubles, eight RBI and eight runs scored … freshman right-hander Alex Lange won his third game in three starts on Saturday with a victory over Princeton … Lange worked six shutout innings, allowing just three hits with two walks and six strikeouts … Lange lowered his cumulative ERA to 2.25, and he has recorded 22 strikeouts in 16 innings this season … sophomore left-hander Jared Poche’ improved to 3-0 by defeating Princeton on Friday night … Poche’ limited Princeton to two runs on six hits in 6.2 innings with one walk and five strikeouts … freshman right-hander Jake Godfrey earned his second win of the year on Saturday versus Princeton, allowing no earned runs on six hits in 5.2 innings with three strikeouts … Godfrey has the best cumulative ERA on the LSU staff at 1.26 … LSU is tied with its opponents, 4-4, in first-inning runs this season; however, the Tigers are outscoring the opposition, 31-7 in the second and third innings combined.
