BATON ROUGE – It will be a No. 1 versus No. 2 matchup this week as the LSU gymnastics team jumped one spot to No. 2 with a 197.025 season average in the GymInfo national rankings released Monday.

LSU (4-0, 2-0 Southeastern Conference) will take part in the Metroplex Challenge against a loaded field that includes No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 8 Arkansas and Iowa State. The meet is slated to begin at 7 p.m. CT Saturday in the Fort Worth (Texas) Convention Center.

The Tigers enter the Metroplex Challenge as the nation’s top-ranked beam team with a 49.208 season average. The Tigers rank second on bars with a 49.333 average, fourth on floor with a 49.258 average and seventh on vault with a 49.225 average.

Three LSU gymnasts are featured in the all-around rankings as Jessie Jordan is No. 3 with a 39.525 average, Rheagan Courville is No. 6 with a 39.433 average and Ashleigh Gnat is 11th at 39.325.

Jordan is No. 1 nationally on beam with a 9.917 average, while Courville is No. 2 on bars at 9.942 and Lloimincia Hall is No. 2 on floor at 9.917.

Jordan also ranks sixth on floor with a 9.908 average and ninth on bars with a 9.883 average.

Courville is ranked 14th on vault with a 9.90 average, and Randii Wyrick and Myia Hambrick are tied for 24th on bars with a 9.85 average.
