BATON ROUGE, La. – Today, the Southeastern Conference announced the television schedule for the 2015 season and the LSU softball team will be featured 11 times on the ESPN family of networks in the coming year, 11 times at home on the SEC Network+ package and have 30 regular season games aired on the radio home of the team on ESPN 104.5 and 104.9.
The conference’s new home on the SEC Network will feature the Tigers the most this season, with eight of the squad’s 11 games nationally televised on the channel, while getting featured on ESPN twice and ESPNU once. The action kicks off in March with the beginning of conference play for the team against Arkansas and will run until the last week of the season.
For fans unable to make some of the games at Tiger Park, the SEC Network+ and WatchESPN will carry 11 home contests throughout the regular season, picking up much of the midweek non-conference matchups such at Louisiana Tech and Nicholls. Other game dates will be announced, as well as road league contests, later into the season.
The 2015 SEC Softball Tournament, May 6-9 in Baton Rouge, will be televised by the SEC Network for the two days, airing the semifinals on ESPNU and culminating with the championship game that Saturday night on ESPN2. In all over 300-plus contests featuring SEC teams will be aired across the various ESPN platforms.
The series opener against Arkansas on March 6 also marks the return of ESPN 104.5 and 104.9 as the audio home for the LSU softball team, as play-by-play will be done by Patrick Wright and color provided by Matt Dunaway. The audio stream can also be found in the Geaux Zone for subscribers, and will run throughout the regular season which will cover more than 30 games.
