BATON ROUGE – LSU sophomore guard Tim Quarterman, who helped LSU rally from nine down in the first overtime of a double overtime win over Georgia Saturday night at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, was named college basketball’s Player of the Week as chosen by the staff at NCAA.com.

Quarterman played 38 minutes in an overtime loss at Mizzou this past Thursday and scored a team-high 19 points with 6 rebounds. Against Georgia Saturday, he played 43 minutes with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The 27 points equaled the most by any LSU player this season.
He helped LSU get to double overtime with a three-point play with 18 seconds left to tie the game at 80-80. He had 11 points in the overtime period as LSU won 87-84. Quarterman’s six three-point makes tied for second most in the league this season.
LSU, which travels to Oxford to take on Ole Miss on Wednesday night at 6 p.m., lost to Mizzou, 74-67, in overtime. LSU is 12-3 and 1-1 in the league.
Quarterman averages 12.7 points per game, 5.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.
