BATON ROUGE – The LSU Men’s Tennis team will kick off their first tennis action of 2015 on Wednesday when they travel to Fort Myers, Fla. to compete in the Florida Gulf Coast Invitational. Other teams represented at the tournament will be Rice, Texas Christian University, Ole Miss and Florida Gulf Coast University.
LSU opens the tournament on Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. EST with doubles matches against Rice and TCU. The Tigers are eager to start their dual play this spring and the invitational is their last chance to tune up before the schedule intensifies.
“This is an opportunity to compete early in January in great weather and against strong opponents,” said head coach Jeff Brown. “We are using this to prepare for our upcoming dual matches in a couple of weeks.”
The invitational stretches from Wednesday to Sunday, and features both singles and doubles action each day of the competition. The Tigers will open at 11 a.m. EST on Thursday, 9:30 a.m. on Friday, 1 p.m. on Saturday and 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
