BATON ROUGE – It’s a good time to talk LSU and Southeastern Conference basketball and men’s basketball Coach Johnny Jones will host his January edition of the Tipoff Luncheon at L’Auberge Casino & Hotel Baton Rouge this Tuesday (Jan. 6).
The monthly gatherings for good food and basketball conversations are presented by Hub International.
Coach Jones will talk about his 11-2 Tigers, winners of eight straight, as they head to their first SEC contest of the 2015 season at Missouri Thursday on ESPN2 and the LSU Sports Radio Network at 6 p.m. The Tigers home SEC opener is Saturday night at 8 p.m. against Georgia.
The guest for this month’s session is LSU Sports Radio Network analyst Ricky Blanton who joins Jim Hawthorne, along with host Kevin Ford for the broadcasts. Blanton, a former Tiger player, played on the 1986 NCAA Final Four team under Coach Dale Brown and remains one of the top all-time scorers and rebounders in LSU basketball history.
The L’Auberge Resort is located off Nicholson Drive in Baton Rouge at the Bon Temps Buffet. The Buffet is available at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at 12:10 p.m. The all-you-can-eat buffet charge is $14.99 a person. The buffet is located on the ground floor of the resort in the casino area.
To get to the L’Auberge resort from the LSU area, follow LA-30 N. /Nicholson Drive. Turn right onto L’Auberge Crossing Drive and follow the signs to L’Auberge Baton Rouge.
