ABBEVILLE, La. – After combining for three 25-point performances on the week, LSU’s Jarell Martin and ULM’s Tylor Ongwae have been named Co-Louisiana Sports Writers Association’s Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after voting by an LSWA panel on Monday.
Martin tallied 25 points in LSU’s come-from-behind win at UAB on Thursday night. The sophomore forward finished 10-of-15 from the floor, 2-for-2 from beyond the arc and 3-of-3 at the charity stripe to go along with six rebounds and one steal in the nine-point win.
Ongwae meanwhile led the Warhawks to a 2-1 week as he notched 25 points in back-to-back home contests. His old fashioned three-point play with 20 seconds to play against LSU-Alexandria sealed the win for the Warhawks as ULM improved to 5-0 at home in 2014-15.
