BATON ROUGE – The LSU Spirit Squad has been named a finalist in the Cheer Your Disney Side Promotion by ESPN with a chance to win a $100,000 grant for their program.
Voting will be held online beginning Dec. 11 and ending on Jan. 6 at http://www.ESPN.com/CheerMagic.
The squad with the most votes will win the grant and travel to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla., to perform their routine. The winner will be announced on ESPN during the College Football Playoff Championship game on Jan. 12.
Fans that vote will be entered into a sweepstakes for a four-night trip for four people to Walt Disney World that includes airfare, accommodations and parking passes.
The squad submitted a 30-second entry video, a routine inspired by visiting a Disney Park, and were chosen as one of four finalists based on their creativity and Disney Theme Park inspiration. Other finalists include Auburn, Rutgers and Santa Monica College.
Fans may vote once per day at www.ESPN.com/CheerMagic until the contest ends on Jan. 6.
