Notes on the Tigers
LSU dropped a 69-67 decision to Santa Clara during its first game away from home during the 2014-15 season as part of the Hardwood Tournament of Hope in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The Lady Tigers final two games were cancelled due to a facility conflict. LSU’s offense put together its most balanced effort of the season as five players reached double figures against the Broncos. Sheila Boykin racked up a career-high 14 points, and DaShawn Harden added 12 points en route to her second straight effort with 10-plus points. Anne Pedersen equaled a season’s best with 11 points followed by Akilah Bethel and Raigyne Moncrief, who tacked on 10 points apiece. LSU nearly overcame a 10-point deficit over the final three minutes of the contest. Through six games, the Lady Tigers are averaging 57.7 points per game and hold a plus 5.2 rebounding margin per game. Moncrief leads the way with 10.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game. Off the bench, Harden has posted a team-leading 8.7 points and 2.5 steals per game. LSU looks to end its three-game losing streak and meets Louisiana Tech on Wednesday inside the Maravich Center. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m., and the game will be televised by the SEC Network.
