BATON ROUGE – LSU gymnastics coach D-D Breaux took part in the fifth annual turkey carving contest at St. Vincent de Paul downtown Wednesday.
Breaux took third place in the contest to carve turkeys for St. Vincent de Paul’s Thanksgiving Day dinner for local families.
“Every year I take part in this wonderful event because it is important to give back as much as I can to my community that has given so much to me,” Breaux said. “The great people at St. Vincent de Paul provide meals for the underserved in our community, and I am thankful they invite me to participate every year in the contest.”
Breaux and the Tigers will take off for the Thanksgiving break and will resume fall practice Monday.
LSU is gearing up for the Gymnastics 101 showcase event at 7 p.m. on Dec. 17 inside the Maravich Center. The Tigers will perform routines in an exhibition-style meet and sign autographs and take pictures with fans afterward.
Admission to Gymnastics 101 is free.
