CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – LSU sophomore forward Jordan Mickey was named to the six-person All-Tournament team announced late Monday night following the championship game of the 2014 Ezybonds Global Planning U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam event at the University of the Virgin Islands Sports and Fitness Center.
Mickey averaged 16.7 points per game, the fourth highest scoring average in the three-game in four-day event and tied for the rebound average lead at 10.0 rebounds a game. Mickey’s tournament was highlighted by two double doubles including career marks of 27 points and 14 rebounds in the LSU win over Weber State when he made 8-of-10 field goal attempts in the final 20 minutes.
Seton Hall won the championship game of this year’s event, edging Illinois State, 84-80.
Joining Mickey on the all-tournament team were: DaMarcus Harrison, Clemson; Trey Freeman, Old Dominion; DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell, Illinois State; and, Desi Rodriguez, Seton Hall. The MVP of the Tournament was Sterling Gibbs of Seton Hall, who had 40 in the championship game win over Illinois State.
