ATLANTA – The LSU sand volleyball team competed in their lone fall event, the Collegiate Sand Clash hosted by Georgia State, in preparation for the program’s second sand season this upcoming spring.
Sophomore Callan Molle and freshman Riley Young lead the Tigers and won six of the eight sets they played in highlighted by a pair of straight set victories. The duo knocked off Georgia State’s Alexis Elmurr and Jessica Fourspring, 21-14 and 21-19 along with Florida State’s Katherine Plessy and Meghan Conway, 21-17 and 21-17.
Sophomore Emma Hiller and freshman Taylor Wilson also collected two victories for LSU. They defeated South Carolina’s Colleen Nosovitch and Zuzia Reszka, 21-11 and 21-9, followed by a win over South Carolina’s Morgan LaVigne and Shiloh Burgreen, 21-16 and 21-17.
Freshmen Mandi Orellana and Lilly Kessler defeated South Carolina’s Chynna Ratner and Maddie Frome, 21-8 and 21-14. They also took a set from Georgia State’s Sara Olivova and Natalie Wilson.
