BATON ROUGE – A week of activities leading up to Friday’s LSU men’s free-to-the-public basketball exhibition game will begin on Monday with a social media campaign that will offer someone a chance to win two tickets to the LSU-Alabama football game on Nov. 8.

The basketball Tigers will meet Morehouse College in a 7 p.m. contest on Friday at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. There will be a pre-game Fan Zone beginning at 5:30 p.m. on the south pad of the Maravich Center featuring music, face painting, inflatables and other activities for kids of all ages.

There will be a social media contest that will begin Monday sometime before 10 a.m. when the public information graphic for the LSU-Morehouse game will be posted on the LSU Basketball Facebook and Twitter sites (www.Facebook.com/LSUBasketball and @LSUBasketball). Fans will be asked to share and re-tweet the image and from those who do that a winner will be selected by the LSU Marketing department to receive a pair of LSU-Alabama football tickets.

Tuesday, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the LSU men’s and women’s basketball teams will host a student block party on Tower Drive near the LSU Union’s Free Speech Alley. LSU Coaches Johnny Jones and Nikki Caldwell and members of the two teams will be on hand with free popcorn and drinks, a basketball half court setup for students to try their luck and a chance to pick up the new LSU men’s and women’s basketball posters and get autographs.

Finally, at halftime of Friday’s game, 10 participants will be selected from the crowd during the first half by the marketing department. Contestants will be both students and members of the public. They will take part in a contest in which two winners will each receive a pair of tickets to the LSU-Alabama football game.

Also this week, the LSU women’s basketball teams will play two exhibition games on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. All three exhibition games will be broadcast on the SEC Network digital system (SECN+) on WatchESPN.com and on the LSU Sports Radio Network.

The Tigers open the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 15 at Noon against Gardner-Webb. New season tickets as well as Pick 3 and Pick 5 mini-plans and single game non-conference tickets are on sale at the LSU Athletics Ticket Office and online at LSUtix.net.
