BATON ROUGE – The LSU gymnastics team continued what is now an annual tradition of participating in the Adopt a Box for Operation Christmas Child on Friday.
Members of the team wrapped gift boxes and filled them with various toys along with needed toiletries. Operation Christmas Child is a program founded by Samaritan’s Purse, and the organization sends these boxes to underprivileged children around the world.
The team also celebrated Halloween on Friday by painting their faces or putting on fake blood to make practice a little scarier than normal.
“It was a fun day in the gym today,” head coach D-D Breaux said. “The team was fired up about their gifts for the children, and they were anxious about Halloween. On top of all that we had a great practice, and I am really looking forward to next Friday’s intrasquad.”
Season tickets are on sale to the public at a cost of $25 for adults and $15 for youth ages 3-12, and tickets can be purchased at http://www.lsutix.net/ or by calling the LSU ticket office toll free at 800-960-8587.
LSU opens the season on Jan. 9 when the Tigers host Iowa in the Maravich Center.
