BATON ROUGE – Members of the LSU Track & Field team recently took part in their inaugural “Pink Day” practice on Saturday, Oct. 18, as each of the event groups for the Tigers and Lady Tigers followed their training at the Bernie Moore Track Stadium by hosting a watermelon social and educational seminar for Breast Cancer Awareness.
LSU’s coaches, athletes and support staff took part in the event in the program’s efforts to better educate members on the impact breast cancer has on men and women alike as well as the preventative steps that can be taken by each member of the program to ensure health in their own lives.
The Tigers and Lady Tigers have undergone an intensive fall training program as they prepare for the start of the 2015 indoor season in January. Fall training will continue through the month of November and culminate with the team’s annual LSU Track & Field Fall Pentathlon competition during Thanksgiving week before they break camp at the end of the fall semester.
The 2015 indoor track and field season kicks off on Friday, Jan. 9, as the Tigers and Lady Tigers will play host to the LSU Indoor Opener at the Carl Maddox Field House in Baton Rouge.
