BATON ROUGE – Two members of LSU Soccer’s heralded recruiting Class of 2014 have been ranked among the Top 25 freshmen in all of women’s college soccer during the 2014 season as rookie striker Jorian Baucom has earned a No. 11 ranking and defender Jordane Carvery has earned a No. 22 ranking in the list of TopDrawerSoccer.com Top 100 Freshmen.

A third member of LSU’s Class of 2014 is also ranked among the Top 100 freshmen nationally as goalkeeper Lily Alfeld has been selected as the No. 78-ranked debutant during this collegiate season.

A native of Scottsdale, Arizona, Baucom has hit the ground running in her debut season with the Tigers as she is the team’s leading scorer during the 2014 campaign with eight goals and four assists for 20 points this fall. She is also tied as the SEC’s fifth-leading scorer in league play with four goals and 10 points in conference action.

Baucom has formed a devastating 1-2 punch along the front line with All-SEC striker Summer Clarke as they have combined for 15 of LSU’s 26 goals on the year with eight assists between them to lead the attack.

A native of Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada, Carvery has started all 17 matches as a central defender after arriving on campus in August following her appearance with Canada’s Under-20 Women’s National Team at the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup this summer. She did not feature for Canada in her first World Cup experience prior to her arrival in Baton Rouge.

Carvery was one of a national-leading four LSU Tigers competing at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, joining Canadian teammate Emma Fletcher and both Alfeld and All-SEC left back Megan Lee with New Zealand.

Alfeld, who hails from Christchurch, New Zealand, has made 15 appearances with 14 starts in goal for the Tigers this season after leading New Zealand’s Under-20 Women’s National Team into the quarterfinal round of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. She has recorded four clean sheets in her first collegiate season, while also ranking No. 3 among all SEC goalkeepers with 67 saves on the campaign.
