LSU Gears Up for Record-Breaking Alumni Band

BATON ROUGE – When the 325 students in the LSU Tiger Marching Band take the field at halftime on Saturday, Oct. 18, they will be joined by 380 alumni of the Golden Band from Tigerland, bringing the total number of performers to more than 700.

Tiger Band alumni – musicians, Tigerettes, Golden Girls and Colorguard – will take part in the second-largest band performance in the history of Tiger Band Reunion. This is the 28th year of the event sponsored by the LSU Alumni Association in conjunction with the Tiger Marching Band.

“We have had a record-breaking response from Tiger Band alumni musicians who are attending from 22 states across the nation,” said Cliff Vannoy, association president. “We know the fans in Tiger Stadium will enjoy the show as much as the alumni band members will enjoy performing.”

The halftime show is the highlight of a weekend of reunion activities. A casual social will be held Friday night at the Lod Cook Alumni Center. Reunion participants will be treated to breakfast Saturday morning followed by rehearsal at the LSU Indoor Practice Facility. A pre-game tailgate party is set for the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
