BATON ROUGE — After a see-saw fourth-quarter win in The Swamp Saturday night, the LSU football team remained just outside the coaches’ and writers’ top 25 polls, it was announced Sunday.
The Tigers received enough points to be 27th in the weekly Amway Coaches Poll and the AP Top 25.
LSU (5-2, 1-2 SEC) – with losses to now-Top 10 SEC Western Division foes Mississippi State (No. 1) and Auburn (No. 8) – went into Ben Hill Griffin Stadium and overcame a 10-point deficit to with 30-27 on a 50-yard Colby Delahoussaye field goal with three seconds remaining.
The victory was Les Miles‘ 100th at LSU in his 126th game.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. CT when Kentucky (5-1, 2-1 SEC) carries its most wins to Tiger Stadium in history. Dating to 1949, Kentucky has never come to Baton Rouge with more than four wins.
