BATON ROUGE – LSU athletic officials have announced more details and a $1,000 prize contest for LSU students for Friday’s second “Bayou Madness” scheduled for the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Another of the “Road to Tipoff” events will begin outside the south side of the Maravich Center with a pep rally at 6:45 p.m. Events courtside inside the building are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. All the Bayou Madness events are free-of-charge.

Among the activities planned for the night include a kid’s zone on the South pad of the Maravich Center with inflatables, face painters and a photo booth for kids of all ages. Those kids who have previously signed up for the cheer clinic that takes place at 6 p.m. will be part of the 6:45 p.m. pep rally with the Bengal Brass Band and the LSU cheerleaders.

Among those joining in and welcoming people to the pep rally will be LSU President F. King Alexander and basketball coaches Nikki Caldwell and Johnny Jones.

Once the event moves inside, both the 2014-15 men’s and women’s basketball teams will be introduced and the women’s team will conduct a team scrimmage. Following that will be a contest involving the players from the three-point arc and a return of last year’s popular player dunk contest.

The women’s basketball team has a dance showcase to show the fans and then the students chance to win $1,000 will take place.

In that contest, teams of two students will compete in a game of 2-ball with four teams competing for the title. There will be two rounds with winners advancing from the first round to the final. The two students on the winning team will split $1,000.

Students can sign up in Free Speech Allen during the week or before the event in the Roar Zone.

The event will conclude with a scrimmage by the members of the LSU men’s basketball team.

In addition, there will be a roar zone dance party on the east side of the PMAC with a live DJ and giveaway items for students who attend the Roar Zone Dance Party.
