Five Named NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Although a few months removed from the end of the season, some former and current members of the LSU softball team were named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar Athlete list the organization announced.

Making the cut were current Tigers Dylan Supak and Layna Savoie, while former standouts Alex Boulet, Simone Heyward and Allison Falcon were also among the more than 1,000 total Division I student-athletes honored for their work in the classroom last year.

“We are excited for our players to be honored with an award such as this,” head coach Beth Torina said. “This is the type of recognition we strive for as a program, and we are proud of our players that have set such a good example of giving their all both on the field and in the classroom.”

This group is no stranger to academic accolades, as Savoie was the only player named to the SEC First-Year Honor Roll, while she and the rest of this group along with A.J. Andrews, Jacee Blades, Ashley Czechner, Alayna Falcon and Kellsi Kloss were all named to the SEC Spring Honor Roll earlier in the summer.
