Cati Leak, OH/RS, 6-2, Jr., Guntersville, Ala.
LSU junior hitter Cati Leak was named to the 2014 Four Points by Sheraton Seminole Invitational after averaging 3.46 kills per set and 2.38 digs per set for the Tigers over the weekend. Leak earned double-doubles on Saturday against Samford and No. 7 Florida State, netting double-digit kills in each of the team’s three matches over the weekend. The Guntersville, Alabama, native led the team in kills in two of the three matches, opening the tournament with 16 kills against Central Arkansas, while belting a season-high 18 against the Seminoles in the finale. She had no less than seven digs in the trio of matches, earning 12 in back-to-back outings on Saturday.

Notes on the Tigers
LSU went 1-2 at the Four Points by Sheraton Seminole Invitational last weekend after having a week off from competition. Five of LSU’s six matches this season have been four sets or longer, playing two four-setters and a five setter this past weekend. Four of LSU’s six matches have been two hours or longer. The Tigers took the first set off of No. 7 Florida State in the finale, and have won the first set in each of the last two matches after not winning the first in the previous four. LSU’s .294 hitting percentage against Samford was a season-high, and the first time the team has hit over .250 as a group in a match this season. LSU outhit its opponents in average .225 to .205 on the weekend. After not having a solo block in the first three matches of the year, the Tigers combined for 11 in the three this past weekend. LSU has earned double-digit blocks in each of three, outblocking each of the last three opponents. The .152 attack percentage by Samford was the lowest LSU has held an opponent to so far this season, while the seven points the Bulldogs had in the third set is tied for the fourth lowest allowed by an LSU team in a set. Fran Flory earned her 300th win of her LSU head coaching career, becoming the second head coach in team history to win that many at LSU. Cati Leak was named to the Four Points by Sheraton Seminole Invitational All-Tournament team after averaging 3.46 kills and 2.38 digs per set. Leak had two double-doubles on Saturday alone, drilling a season-high 18 kills against the Seminoles. Leak has earned double-digit kills in all six matches this season. Leak and Malorie Pardo, who also had a double-double on the weekend, lead the team with three double-doubles each this season. Briana Holman led LSU on the weekend, averaging 3.80 kills per set and 1.60 blocks per set, earning four solo blocks on the weekend. Holman’s 19 kills against Samford is an individual season high for the team this year. Holman has hit no lower than .345 this season. LSU had four players average more than two digs per set on the weekend, led by Haley Smith who averaged 4.46. Smith earned 22 digs against Florida State, the most in a single game for LSU this season. Pardo has a service ace in each of the last three matches. Madi Mahaffey has earned 13 blocks in the last three matches, including having five against Samford with three solo blocks.
