Holman was named to the Purdue Mortar Board Premier All-Tournament team after averaging 4.27 kills and 1.09 blocks per set for LSU who faced two top 15 teams in the very first weekend. Currently leading the SEC in kills per game, while sitting sixth in hitting percentage and fifth in service aces after having six on the weekend.

Notes on the Tigers
LSU went 1-2 at the Purdue Mortar Board Premier tournament last weekend… The Tigers defeated South Florida in four sets, while falling to No. 15 San Diego in four and No. 7 Purdue in three… LSU dropped a season opener for just the second time in the last five seasons… Over the last three seasons, LSU is 11-11 in four-set matches… Head coach Fran Flory is one win away from her 300th at LSU, becoming only the second head coach to have that many wins in team history… The 32 points LSU had in the second set against the Boilermakers was two shy of cracking the top 10 in most scored in a set, while the 34 for Purdue was the ninth time an opponent as scored that many against the Tigers… LSU will be back in action next week, participating in the FSU tournament… Briana Holman was named the SEC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday… It was the first weekly award of the season for Holman and is the second LSU player to win it in the very first week [Ivana Kuzmic, 2005]… Holman was named to the Purdue Mortar Board Premier All-Tournament Team after averaging 4.27 kills, 1.09 blocks and 0.55 service aces per set… Holman currently leads the SEC in kills per set, while sitting sixth in hitting percentage… Malorie Pardo became the first player since 2008 to earn a triple-double in a match, doing so against USF with 40 assists, 11 digs and 10 kills in the win over the Bulls… Pardo is averaging 11.00 assists per set which is currently third in the league… Haley Smith averaged 3.64 digs per set which leads the team and is 11th in the SEC… Cati Leak was the only other player along with Holman to earn double-digit kills in every match, with 13 against USD and 10 against USD and Purdue… Leak netted her first double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs against South Florida… Madi Mahaffey started all three matches and hit .800 against Purdue with four kills, no errors and a block… Freshmen Mimi Eugene, Elly Ogle, Gina Tillis and Cheyenne Wood each made their debut in matches last weekend.
