Simpson Falls Short in SEC Fall Classic Semi

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – LSU’s No. 29 Chris Simpson was eliminated from the 2013 SEC Fall Classic this afternoon in Nashville, Tenn., at the Currey Tennis Center after a 6-4, 6-2 loss to No. 67 Harrison Adams of Texas A&M.
 
Chris Simpson had a good tournament and he was just outplayed today,” head coach Jeff Brown said. “He will carry a great deal of confidence into the ITA All-American event.”
 
Simpson won in his first four singles matches, taking down Arkansas’ Parlic in the second round on Thursday 6-0, 6-1. He then dealt a 6-2, 6-0 loss to Texas A&M’s Frankie Colunga in the third round, and then defeated Florida’s No. 52 Florent Diep 7-6(6), 7-6(0) in the fourth round. Yesterday afternoon, Simpson was victorious in his match against No. 56 Shane Vinsant of Texas A&M, winning 6-2, 7-5.
 
Next up for the Tigers will be the ITA All-American Pre-Qualifying in Tulsa, Okla., at the Case Tennis Center starting Saturday, September 28.
