Nominees for SEC Offensive Player of the Week

Madie Jones, OH, 6-2, Sr., Plano, Texas
Jones powered home an astounding 5.12 kills per set on a .313 hitting percentage playing only three rotations as LSU split its matches versus SEC Eastern Division foes Georgia and South Carolina. The 5.12 kills per set were nearly 1.75 kills per set above her season average. She ripped a career-high 26 kills versus Georgia on ESPNU’s Wednesday Night Volleyball and added six digs, one away from a career-best. The Plano, Texas, native ripped 10 spikes during LSU’s 25-23 victory in the third set. Jones followed that up with 15 kills on 29 errorless swings against South Carolina. Her .517 hitting clip was a season’s best.

Malorie Pardo, S, 5-10, So., League City, Texas
Pardo turned in an impressive week and handed out 13.75 assists per set, three helpers above her season average. She fueled a trio of hitters to over 3.75 kills per set, tallied 2.38 digs per set and posted 0.50 blocks per set. Pardo distributed a career-best 64 assists and added 14 digs versus Georgia on ESPNU’s Wednesday Night Volleyball. She also led Madie Jones to a career-high 26 kills during the Georgia match. The League City, Texas, native sparked LSU to a season’s best .359 hitting percentage in a sweep of South Carolina. Her 46 assists was a SEC season-high for a three-set match in conference play.

Notes on the Tigers
LSU split its matches for the third straight week as the Tigers dropped a 3-2 decision to Georgia before posting 3-0 sweep over South Carolina. The victory over the Gamecocks avenged a five-set loss earlier in the season. LSU’s offense banged home a season’s best .359 hitting percentage, while Malorie Pardo handed out 46 assists during the South Carolina. The 46 helpers were an SEC-best for a three-set league match this season. Pardo set three hitters to over 3.75 kills per set for the weekend and averaged 13.75 assists per set. She dialed up a career-best 64 assists and added 14 digs versus Georgia. Pardo has registered double-doubles in five of her last seven outings. Madie Jones sparked the Tigers with 5.12 kills per set and hammered home a career-best 26 spikes against Georgia. She followed that up with 15 kills on an errorless 29 swings en route to a scorching .517 hitting clip. Desiree Elliott provided 4.00 kills and 1.00 blocks per set. She tallied 18 kills against Georgia and totaled six blocks versus South Carolina. Helen Boyle turned in a balance 3.88 kills and 3.88 digs per set. Like Pardo, Boyle has come away with five double dips in her last seven matches. LSU’s back row welcomed Meghan Mannari back into the fold. She registered a match-high 18 digs from the libero spot versus South Carolina. Sam Delahoussaye corralled a team-leading 4.25 scoops per set. She collected 21 digs versus Georgia and has eclipsed the 20-scoop plateau in four of her last six matches. For the second consecutive week, LSU will be featured on ESPNU’s Wednesday Night Volleyball and meets Tennessee at 7 p.m. CT before a Sunday tilt versus Alabama at 1 p.m. CT.
