BATON ROUGE – LSU’s Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes (CCACSA) will hold its annual Major Decisions Symposium on Wednesday, October 3, in the Lawton Room at Tiger Stadium. This event aims to better prepare sophomore student-athletes for their academic futures.
“The Major Decisions Symposium has truly been an informative event for many of our sophomore student-athletes,” CCACSA Manager for Student Learning and Learning Specialist, Kydani Dover said. “It is our hope that this year’s Major Decisions Symposium will provide our sophomore student-athletes with the information they need to confidently declare a major and successfully pursue graduation.”
The symposium is an opportunity for student-athletes to gather information from the schools and colleges that offer their major of interest. It gives students a chance to interact with the representatives and faculty from these colleges, ask questions about what different majors require and make connections for future contact. Career services also will be in attendance, to help provide information on employment for those seeking jobs after graduation.
The colleges that will be involved this year include: Agriculture, Art & Design, Business, Engineering, Human Sciences & Education, Humanities & Social Sciences, Kinesiology, Mass Communications, Nursing and Science.
