BATON ROUGE – The LSU Soccer team is set to wrap up its 10-game homestand on Sunday afternoon when it welcomes the 18th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats to Baton Rouge as the Tigers seek their first victory in SEC play in a match set to kick off at 1 p.m. CT at the LSU Soccer Stadium.

The Tigers (4-3-3, 0-2-1 SEC) are seeking their first Southeastern Conference win of the year in the wake of Friday’s 3-1 setback to the Auburn Tigers at the LSU Soccer Stadium.

The Wildcats (7-2, 2-1) will be fighting to get back in the win column after dropping its first league match of the season with a 3-2 defeat on the road at Arkansas on Friday.

LSU enters Sunday’s contest with a two-game winning streak against Kentucky that includes a 1-0 double overtime win in Baton Rouge in 2010 and a 2-0 shutout in Lexington in 2011. While the Tigers boast a 4-9-2 mark against the Wildcats in the all-time series, they have posted a strong 4-1-2 mark against the SEC East rival since the 2005 season during the tenure of eighth-year head coach Brian Lee.

Fans are able to “Geaux Free!” to Sunday’s game between the Tigers and the Wildcats as the admission is free for each of LSU’s remaining four home matches during the 2012 season.

Fans who are unable to attend the match are reminded that live streaming video of the contest is slated for a 12:55 p.m. CT start for those with a subscription to the Geaux Zone at www.LSUsports.net/live.

Fans can also follow the action through LSU’s social media networks as live updates and coverage for the match is available by liking LSU Soccer on Facebook and following @LSUSoccer on Twitter. In addition to that, fans are welcome to join in the live in-game chat on the team’s official Facebook page.

Sunday is “Baton Rouge Soccer Association Day” at the LSU Soccer Stadium as BRSA members will be the special guests. Fans in attendance will also receive free “Geaux Tigers!” signs.

After wrapping up their 10-game homestand against the Wildcats on Sunday afternoon, the Tigers will go on the road for the first time in SEC play next weekend when they travel to Starkville, Miss., to square off against the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Friday night and Athens, Ga., to line up across from the Georgia Bulldogs on Sept. 30. LSU’s match at Georgia is set for a live TV broadcast on ESPNU.
