The Ladyjacks are the reigning Southland Conference champions after a 15-3-1 campaign a season ago, and have been selected as the preseason pick to repeat as conference title holders again this fall by the league’s coaches and sports information directors.

In addition, five members in the Stephen F. Austin squad are preseason First-Team All-SLC selections for 2012, led by reigning SLC Player of the Year Kylie Louw in the midfield. It also features strikers Chelsea Raymond and Laura Sadler, defender Breanne Vernon and goalkeeper Lacey Lee.

Raymond and Sadler are the team’s leading goal scorers with four goals and three goals, respectively, and Louw already ranks among the national leaders with a team-leading six assists this fall.

The Tigers will counter with a diverse attack of its own featuring five different goal scorers on the season, including senior striker Carlie Banks, sophomore midfielders Alex Arlitt and Kaley Blades, and freshmen standouts Jade Kovacevic and Heather Magee. In addition, six Tigers have accounted for the team’s seven assists on the season, led by the two assists recorded by freshman midfielder Fernanda Pina.
