BATON ROUGE – Members of the LSU Soccer program are anxious to return to the pitch on Sunday afternoon as they welcome the Houston Cougars to the LSU Soccer Stadium for a contest that is slated for a regionally-televised broadcast on Cox Sports Television at 1:07 p.m. CT.

The Tigers (1-1-1) return to action for the first time in a week when Friday’s home match against Stephen F. Austin was postponed until Tuesday in the wake of Hurricane Isaac.

LSU will make its second appearance on Cox Sports Television in as many weeks as the Tigers dropped a 2-1 decision to the NC State Wolfpack in a regionally-televised contest last Sunday.

CST will also provide live coverage of LSU’s final non-conference match of the season on Monday, Sept. 10, as the Tigers play host to Memphis before opening Southeastern Conference play. Louisiana residents can catch CST on Channel 37 on Cox Communications, Channel 1037 on Cox Digital Cable and Channel 421 on DISH Network. Check local listings for CST in your area.

Fans can “Geaux Free!” to Sunday’s match between the Tigers and Cougars (2-2) as admission is free for each of the team’s remaining 11 regular season matches this fall. Gates will open to the public at noon CT with kickoff set for 1:07 p.m. at the LSU Soccer Stadium in Baton Rouge.

Fans can also follow the action through LSU’s social media networks as live updates and coverage for the match is available by liking LSU Soccer on Facebook and following @LSUSoccer on Twitter. In addition to that, fans are welcome to join in the live in-game chat on the team’s official Facebook page.

The Tigers are unbeaten in three previous meetings with Houston as they own a 2-0-1 mark in their series dating back to the 2006 season. That includes a 2-1 triumph in Houston a year ago.

Three fixtures have seen three different goal scorers for the Tigers as senior Carlie Banks and sophomores Alex Arlitt and Kaley Blades have each opened their account for the 2012 season in pacing LSU’s offense in the early going. Sunday’s match will also see the debut of Canadian international Jade Kovacevic in the wake of her appearance at the FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup over the past two weeks.

Sunday’s match features an “End of Summer Celebration” as LSU fans can join in the last big party of the summer. Free Hawaiian leis will be handed out to those attending the match.

After playing host to the Cougars on Sunday afternoon, the Tigers will continue their 10-game homestand on Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m. CT when they battle the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks in a match that has been postponed due to Hurricane Isaac. LSU will then finish up its non-conference slate with two matches against NCAA Tournament qualifiers from a year ago as they play host to Florida International on Sept. 7 and Memphis on Sept. 10 at the vaunted LSU Soccer Stadium.
