BATON ROUGE – The Shaquille O’Neal annual Charity Golf Tournament, originally scheduled for this Friday, has been pushed back for one week to Friday, Sept. 7, at Carter Plantation.
The tournament raises funds for the Shaquille O’Neal Life Skills Program at LSU which prepares student-athletes for life after college by focusing on five areas: academic excellence, athletic excellence, community service, personal development and career development.
Despite the postponement, the former LSU and NBA superstar will be present at the tournament on Sept. 7 to meet all participants and take a photo with them. The shotgun start rounds begin at 8 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Participants receive a round of golf, a meal before and after play, a photo opportunity with O’Neal, an awards ceremony, silent auction, t-shirt and Ditty bag.
Team and individual spots are still available for the rescheduled tournament. For more information about signing up golfers for the event contact the Shaquille O’Neal Life Skills Office at 225-578-0385.
