BATON ROUGE – After opening its home slate with a 1-1 draw with Rice in front of a record crowd of 2,624 fans on Friday night, the LSU Soccer team resumes its 10-game homestand on Sunday afternoon as it hosts a confident NC State squad with kickoff set for 1:07 p.m. CT at the LSU Soccer Stadium.

The Tigers (1-0-1) will make their television debut on Sunday afternoon as Cox Sports Television will air the match live on its regional network as fans can tune in across the Southeast. Louisiana residents will be able to tune in to CST on Channel 37 on Cox Communications and Channel 1037 on Cox Digital Cable as well as Channel 421 on DISH Network. Check local listings for CST in your area.

CST will also provide live coverage of LSU’s matches against Houston on Sunday, Sept. 2, and Memphis on Monday, Sept. 10, in a pair of non-conference matches at the LSU Soccer Stadium.

Fans can “Geaux Free!” to Sunday’s match between the Tigers and Wolfpack as admission will be free in each of the remaining 12 regular season matches in Baton Rouge. Gates will be open to the public at noon CT with kickoff set for 1:07 p.m. at the LSU Soccer Stadium.

Fans can also follow the action through LSU’s social media networks as live updates and coverage for the match is available by liking LSU Soccer on Facebook and following @LSUSoccer on Twitter. In addition to that, fans are welcome to join in the live in-game chat on the team’s official Facebook page.

The Wolfpack (1-2) are surging following their first victory of the 2012 campaign on Friday night with an exciting 1-0 road win in Austin over the Texas Longhorns. Sophomore striker Jessica Baity found the back of the net from distance in the 84th minute to help secure the victory.

The Tigers are looking for their first victory over the Wolfpack in the series as NC State has taken each of their two previous meetings on the soccer pitch, including a 1-0 win in Raleigh, N.C., a year ago.

LSU has played to overtime in each of their two matches to open the 2012 season while earning a 1-0 win in double overtime on the road Oklahoma to open the campaign on Monday night before battling the Rice Owls to a 1-1 draw in its home opener on Friday night. A record crowd of 2,624 fans turned out to see the Tigers and Owls play to a draw in the first match of a historic 10-game homestand.

The Tigers shattered their previous attendance record of 2,542 fans who witnessed a 1-0 win over Oregon in the opening match of the new LSU Soccer Stadium on Sept. 9, 2011.

Sunday’s match will feature the annual “Pooch in the Pitch” as fans are invited to bring their dogs to LSU for the match. The first 250 supporters through the gates will receive a free LSU Soccer dog Frisbee. Two organizations YELP and CAAWS will also bring dogs for the fans to play with and possibly adopt.

After playing host to the NC State Wolfpack on Sunday afternoon, the Tigers will remain in Baton Rouge next weekend as they welcome Stephen F. Austin on Friday and Houston on Sunday, Sept. 2, for a pair of exciting fixtures as part of their 10-game homestand at the LSU Soccer Stadium.
