BATON ROUGE – The LSU Marketing & Promotions Department has announced the promotions schedule for 13 home matches for the LSU Soccer team during the 2012 season as the Tigers are ready to play host to the Rice Owls in their home opener on Friday night at 7 p.m. CT.
Fans will have the opportunity to “Geaux Free!” to each of the team’s 13 home matches as admission will be free for those making it to the LSU Soccer Stadium, compliments of The Advocate.
The Tigers are excited to treat their fans to a historic 10-game homestand and a program high 13 games at the LSU Soccer Stadium during the 2012 campaign. That includes eight matches against programs earning a berth in the NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Tournament a season ago.
The Tigers will battle three NCAA Tournament teams during the non-conference season as they welcome the likes of Stephen F. Austin on Aug. 31, Florida International on Sept. 7 and Memphis on Sept. 10 to the LSU Soccer Stadium. They will then play five-straight SEC home fixtures against NCAA Tournament teams from the 2011 campaign, including Texas A&M in their SEC opener on Sept. 14, Alabama on Sept. 16, Auburn on Sept. 21, Kentucky on Sept. 23 and Florida on Oct. 5.
The Tigers are nearly unbeatable when playing in the friendly confines of the LSU Soccer Stadium with a sterling 33-5-7 home record for a .811 winning percentage during the past five seasons.

Friday, Aug. 24 vs. Rice – 7 p.m.
Student Point Match; Bengal Bound BBQ
– All students will receive hot dogs, hamburgers and chips provided by VooDoo BBQ
– First 500 fans will receive a free “The Beautiful Game” T-Shirt!
– Student-athletes will be able to pick up their Tiger Night Shirts!
– Mike the Tiger will be leading the cheers with the LSU Cheerleaders!

Pooch in the Pitch
– Fans are invited to bring their dogs to the game!
– First 250 fans will receive a free LSU Soccer dog Frisbee!
– YELP and CAAWS will bring dogs to the match for fans to play with and potentially adopt!
Friday, Aug. 31 vs. Stephen F. Austin – 7 p.m.
Girl Scouts Day
– Free t-shirt and pizza to all girl scouts in attendance!
– Free youth soccer clinic for the girl scouts hosted by the LSU Soccer team from 5-6 p.m.!
Sunday, Sept. 2 vs. Houston – 1 p.m.
End of Summer Celebration
– Fans can attend the last big party of the summer!
– Free Hawaiian leis will be handed out to kids and families as they enter the stadium!
Friday, Sept. 7 vs. Florida International – 7 p.m.
Baton Rouge Soccer Association & Family Day
– First 250 fans will receive a free LSU Soccer tote bag!
– BRSA Elite Training Camp will be held on LSU’s practice field from 6-7 p.m.!
– Families are invited to spend a night under the lights at the LSU Soccer Stadium!
Monday, Sept. 10 vs. Memphis – 7 p.m.
Kids Day & Mike’s Kids Club
– First 500 fans will receive a free LSU Soccer pennant!
– The LSU Soccer team will host a mini kids clinic prior to the game!
– There will be a pizza party for the kids following the clinic!
– Mike’s Kids Club members will get their chance to shoot and score against Mike the Tiger at halftime!
Friday, Sept. 14 vs. Texas A&M – 7 p.m.
Student Point Match; Alumni Night; Greek Night; SEC Opener
– First 500 fans will receive a free LSU Soccer bottle opener key chain!
– LSU Soccer Alumni Weekend will feature an L Club sponsored alumni tailgate before the game!
– Reserved number of football tickets to the Idaho game will be available for alumni to purchase!
– Each fraternity and sorority with highest attendance will win $500 toward their philanthropy!
– Mike the Tigers will be in attendance!

Dads & Daughters
– First 500 fans will receive a free LSU Soccer temporary tattoo!
– This is the kickoff event for the Dads & Daughters program!
