BATON ROUGE – LSU’s marketing department released its volleyball promotions schedule Wednesday for the upcoming 2012 campaign at the Maravich Center.
For the second consecutive season, admission to all home matches is free compliments of the Advocate’s “Geaux Free” program.
As part of LSU’s season-long philanthropy project, the Tigers are partnering with the Capital Area Animal Welfare Society (CAAWS) to collect food, toys and other pet supplies for adoptable animals. These items for “Paws in the PMAC” can be donated at the fan zone during every home match.

LSU concessions will provide a special dinner leading into the Kentucky (Sept. 21), Georgia (Oct. 3), Tennessee (Oct. 10) and Texas A&M (Oct. 26) matches.
The “Meal Deal” can be purchased for only $7 and will be available one hour prior to first serve inside the Courtside Club which is located at the Northwest Corridor entrance of the arena. Fans can reserve their meals in advance by emailing kobrien@lsu.edu or by contacting Katie at (225) 578-5050 with the quantity of meals and names.

Special individual match promotions get underway with the “Serve It Up BBQ” held before the Washington match on August 31. The first 1,000 fans will receive a complimentary LSU volleyball t-shirt. All fans and students also have the opportunity to enjoy free food and entertainment available on the Maravich Center PAD Area located in front of the arena starting at 6 p.m. while supplies last.
LSU opens its SEC home schedule versus Kentucky on September 21. In addition to being the first of four “Meal Deal” events, the tilt serves as the program’s annual “Gold Match” and marks the first of two “Student Point” matches. The 1,000 fans can pick up a “Point Tigers” sign, while the first 500 students will take home a “Gold Digger” t-shirt.
“Trading Card Day” is scheduled for September 23 contest against SEC newcomer Missouri, while the inaugural “Mardi Gras” match is slated for October 3 versus Georgia. The first 500 fans will receive a LSU volleyball bead to the 6 p.m. ESPNU match.
“Team Photo Day” highlights the South Carolina match on October 7 as the first 100 fans in attendance will gain the opportunity to take their photo with the team following the match.
The second of two “Student Point” matches and “Greek Night” will take place versus Tennessee on October 10. The first 1,000 fans to the 7 p.m. ESPNU contest will add a LSU volleyball tumbler to their collection. The LSU sorority or fraternity that brings the most members to the match will earn the chance to form a tunnel on the field prior to the South Carolina football game on October 13.
LSU faculty and staff are encouraged to come out and support the Tigers against Alabama on October 14 as part of “Family Day and Teacher Appreciation” event.
“Rock the PMAC II” returns for the Texas A&M match on October 26 where the LSU Drum Line will perform in between the second and third sets.
LSU introduces “Dads and Daughters” in 2012. The new series will take place after the Ole Miss match on November 4. It will give dads and their daughters the opportunity to learn what has motivated LSU female student-athletes to pursue their dreams. One of the most anticipated events at the Maravich Center each season is “Senior Night” which will be held on November 21 against Arkansas. The Tigers will honor Sam Delahoussaye, Victoria Jacobsen, Madie Jones and Meghan Mannari after the 8 p.m. ESPNU match. Fans also can “Geaux Give Thanks” by bringing canned food items which will be donated to a local food bank for the holiday season.
LSU will hold its annual Purple & Gold Scrimmage on Saturday, August 18 at 4:30 p.m. inside the Maravich Center. Admission to the scrimmage and all 2012 home matches at the Maravich Center are free compliments of the Advocate’s “Geaux Free” program.
Leading into the scrimmage, the Tigers will instruct basic volleyball skills starting at 2 p.m. during a free kid’s clinic. The clinic is open to all children eighth grade and under.
