BATON ROUGE – Decorated junior golfer Elise Bradley of Mandeville, who will be coming to LSU this fall to join the nationally-ranked Lady Tigers, has advanced into the field for the 2012 USGA Women’s Amateur Championship starting Sunday in Cleveland.
Bradley was the first alternate in the qualifying sectional at the Dallas Athletic Club last month, firing a 77 to finish in 11th place. A withdrawal has allowed Bradley to join the field and compete in the 36-hole qualifying which is Sunday and Monday that will determine the field of 64 for the match play rounds that begin on Wednesday.
Bradley earlier this summer won the Louisiana Women’s Golf Association Junior Amateur in Alexandria for the third time. The Mandeville High graduate won the state Division I golf championship three times, including 2012, in her prep career.
The Women’s Amateur will be played at The Country Club, the second time the historic club has hosted a USGA event.
