BATON ROUGE – The LSU Track & Field program continues to receive recognition for its athletic and academic performance during the 2012 season as five student-athletes were selected this week as USTFCCCA All-Academic honorees by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Among the Tigers and Lady Tigers who have received USTFCCCA All-Academic awards for their effort in the classroom for the 2011 campaign include seniors Rachel Laurent, Aaron Moore and Ryan Roubion, and junior standouts Joseph Caraway and Laura Carleton.
In order to qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic status for 2012, a student-athlete must have maintained a 3.25 cumulative grade-point average during their respective collegiate careers.
They must have also met either of the athletic criteria set by the USTFCCCA. A student-athlete must have finished the regular season indoors ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA performance list provided by TFRRS.org, or participated in any round of an event at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships.
