BATON ROUGE – The Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes (CCACSA) welcomes Ashley Pregeant as a new member to their team of Learning Specialists.
“We are very excited that Ms. Ashley Pregeant is joining our team of professional Learning Specialists,” Senior Associate Director for Student Learning Dr. Audrey Phillips said. “Ms. Pregeant has worked with our Learning Specialists for two academic years as a graduate assistant ‘in-training’. Her commitment and hard work in this transitional academic year has been exemplary. She is well respected by both students and professional staff. Ms. Pregeant brings the wealth of her prior classroom teaching experiences to her students and her commitment to their welfare is evidenced in their success. She is a wonderful addition to our growing team. We look forward to her continued growth and success.”
As a two-year Graduate Assistant in the CCACSA, Pregeant is accustomed to working with the learning specialist team, as well as tutoring and assisting student-athletes and collaborating with their academic advisors.
She offers even more experience to the position as a former teacher at East Ascension High School, where she taught English, World History and Geography for all grades for three years.
From 2008-2010, she also served as an English teacher for the Credit Recovery Program, allowing students that require individual attention a chance to recover their class credits over the summer.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue working at the CCACSA,” Pregeant said. “I look forward to contributing to a great organization with such a committed and driven staff, and to helping our student-athletes reach their fullest potential in the classroom. LSU has played a significant role in my life and career, and I look forward to giving back to this great university.”
Pregeant will complete her Master of Library and Information Science in August 2012, following her Bachelor of Science in Education earned in 2007 at LSU.
