“Hey Tiger Fans,

Since SEC play has started, your Fighting Tigers have started off strong with a split versus Auburn and a sweep of Mississippi State. The three wins last weekend marked Coach Torina’s first SEC series win. I shared a special moment with her when I presented her with the game ball after Sunday’s win.

It is extremely important to start off strong in this conference because of the tough competition we face each weekend. No matter who we face, it’s a battle to the end. Winning crucial games every weekend puts us in good standing once SEC Tournament and NCAA Regionals roll around. With key wins under our belt, it sets us up for great seeding in both tournaments.

Being 4-1 starting off our first 5 games of SEC play is essential to our long term success. The SEC is so tough that nearly every team in the conference is ranked in the Top 25. The more times we defeat these tough teams, the higher our ranking goes which pushes your Fighting Tigers closer to a trip to the Women’s College World Series!

This weekend we travel to our first road series at South Carolina to battle it out with the Gamecocks. We look forward to bringing home three more wins. To reach this goal, we will need to play Tiger Softball. We have such a great opportunity to do this with all the families and fans we have coming to support us.

I am especially thrilled for the weekend series because I have 26 family members coming out to support us! It is remarkable having them there because most of them have never seen me play. It is special knowing it’s my senior year, and I get to play some of my last games in front of them.

However, not only do our families attend the road games, we have diehard LSU fans all over the nation that come out and cheer us on. It’s awesome knowing that LSU reaches out to so many people. Purple and Gold truly does bleed out to our fans across the world, I can’t thank you all enough for being college softball’s greatest fans!”

Geaux Tigers,

Lang
