NCAA Final Four Court Coming to PMAC Thursday

BATON ROUGE – LSU will host the men’s NCAA Final Four court on the way to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

The court is coming to Baton Rouge and LSU as part of a seven-city tour of the hardwood floor built by Connor Sport Court International.

The truck with the court and a mini-court that will feature interactive activities will be set up between the south ramps of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 22.

A documentary team from CBS Television is filming the tour, from construction of the court in Amasa, Mich., to Final Four play in New Orleans.

Among the events happening in conjunction with the tour include: the first 100 individuals showing up will receive an official 3″ x 6″ piece of the floor emblazoned with the Final Four logo. Fans will be able to have their photo taken on the 8′ x 8′ Center Court replica piece and play basketball on a genuine Sport Court Backyard Court.

There will be opportunities to play the NCAA Trivia Game and fans will have a chance to sign the Final Four Floor Tour banner.

The tour began Friday in Columbus, Ohio then Saturday in Louisville, Ky., (a first and second round site). On March 19 the floor will be in Atlanta, followed by a stop in Auburn on March 20. It will be at the University of Southern Miss on March 21 before coming to Baton Rouge and then on to New Orleans on March 23.

The court was crafted especially for the 2012 Men’s Final Four. It was constructed of northern hardwood maple in strict accordance with NCAA specifications.
