BATON ROUGE – This week’s edition of LSU softball’s Blogging from the Berm features Allison Falcon as the Tigers play host to the Purple and Gold Challenge over the weekend at Tiger Park.
LSU is slated to meet Mississippi Valley State (Friday – 5 p.m.; Saturday – 4 p.m.) and Troy (Friday – 7:30 p.m.; Saturday – 1:30 p.m.).
Falcon has gone 10-for-24 at the plate en route to a .417 batting average and has picked up six RBIs to rank tied for third on the team. She returned to the lineup Wednesday at Nicholls State after missing an eight-game stretch due to injury.

Hey Tiger Fans,
It’s another beautiful day in the Capital City, any home gameday is a beautiful day. We are excited for this weekend’s Purple and Gold Challenge.
I’m very happy to be reunited with my Tiger sisters after missing the last two weeks of competition. It felt good to be back in the LSU uniform Wednesday at Nicholls State. I’m really looking forward to getting back into the “swing” of things this weekend against both Troy and Mississippi Valley State.
My teammates continue to impress me, starting with Brittany Mack. In case you haven’t heard the awesome news, Brittany was selected Wednesday night as the first overall selection in the National Pro Fastpitch draft. This is a huge honor for Brittany and our program. I am confident that she will be very influential in growing the sport of professional softball and wish her the best of luck this summer!
Continuing with the senior class, Ashley Langoni is on a hot streak at the plate. I’m pretty sure her home run put a dent in the parking lot at Nicholls. She has been working so hard, and we all trust that she will be a significant factor in our offensive production.
We are also starting to see big contributions from the underclassmen. Dylan Supak and Kailey McCasland, I’m talking to you! The freshmen corner duo is continuing to improve with each game.
We have 10 home games in the next 13 days. There are plenty of chances to come and see your Tigers play. Whereas some people consider DisneyLand the happiest place in the world, that’s Tiger Park for me. I’d love to see you, your family and your neighbors in my happy place for a game or 10.
Geaux Tigers,
Allison
