BATON ROUGE – After a dominant road victory against Washington and Seattle Pacific and a 196.450 score, the LSU gymnastics team remained 13th in the newest GymInfo standings released Monday.
The Tigers improved the season average to a 195.575 by scoring the second-best team total of the season with the 196.450 against the Huskies and Falcons, and the solid road score means LSU will be able to drop the season-opening 192.500 at the Cancun Classic when the Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) rankings are released next week.
LSU (4-7, 2-3 SEC) remained seventh on vault and 21st on bars, but the Tigers jumped up three spots to No. 17 on beam after scoring a 49.100 at Washington. LSU tied its season high on floor with a 49.150 at Washington, but the Tigers fell one spot to No. 12.
In the individual rankings, Rheagan Courville remained third nationally on vault with a 9.918 average and came in at No. 22 in the all-around standings with a 39.275 average after scoring a season-high 39.500 at Washington. Lloimincia Hall ranked 15th on floor with a 9.868 average.
Florida took over the top spot in the rankings with a 196.929 average as previous No. 1 Utah tumbled to fifth. Oklahoma checked in at No. 2 with a 196.784 while Alabama and Georgia tied for third at 196.725.
LSU will play host to third-ranked Alabama at 7 p.m. CT Friday in the Maravich Center. It is Autograph Night, and team trading cards will be available for fans to get signed by the Tigers after the meet.
