BATON ROUGE – The LSU gymnastics team used a 195.750 score at Georgia on Saturday to boost the season average to a 194.900 and move up three spots to No. 14 in the newest GymInfo standings released Monday.
The Tigers jumped back into the top 15 nationally with the help of two solid road scores, a 196.325 at Arkansas on Jan. 20 and the 195.750 at Georgia.
LSU (1-6, 1-2 Southeastern Conference) improved to No. 5 in the team vault standings with a 49.256 average after scoring a 49.300 against the GymDogs. The Tigers also ranked 23rd on bars (48.481 average) and 15th on floor (48.881).
In the individual rankings freshman Rheagan Courville moved up one spot to No. 4 in the nation on vault with a 9.925 average after earning her third vault title of the season with a 9.95 against the GymDogs. Courville also remained in the all-around standings at No. 24 with a 39.144 average.
Freshman Lloimincia Hall ranked 17th on floor with a 9.869 average after tying her season high with a 9.90 that won the floor title at Georgia. The title was the third of the season for Hall.
Freshman Jessie Jordan earned the No. 22 ranking on beam with a 9.825 average. Jordan captured her first all-around title with a 39.250 score at Georgia, and she became the first LSU gymnast to win an all-around crown away from home since Susan Jackson won the NCAA All-Around title with a 39.625 at the 2010 NCAA Championships in Gainesville, Fla.
LSU returns home to face SEC rival Kentucky (3-3, 0-2) at 7 p.m. CT Friday inside the Maravich Center.
