BATON ROUGE – The Cox Communications Academic Center for Student Athletes recently hired Jonathan Levesque to serve as its Information Technology Manager.
“It is exciting to be joining such an outstanding team of wonderful people,” Levesque said. “I believe in our group’s mission of helping our student-athletes achieve academic success. Providing the latest in leading edge technology and support will be my mission as the IT Manager. We will strive to be technological trendsetters and the gold standard in supporting student-athletes.”
Levesque comes to LSU with experience from Redemptorist High School, Xspedius Communications, Worldcom and the U.S. Navy.
As Technology Coordinator of Redemptorist High School, he acted as the single point of contact for all technology needs. After writing the school’s technology plan, he installed a new network infrastructure.
While at Xspedius Communications in Lake Charles, La., Levesque served as Senior NOC Technician. Here, he gained valuable experience in customer service and troubleshooting as he collaborated with other technicians to resolve technological issues for their customers.
At Worldcom in Cary, N.C., he received the title of Network Engineer II. Here, he specialized in resolving trouble tickets for customers and was cited as a top employee in every employee evaluation during his time there.
While in the U.S. Navy, he was a third class Electronics Technician serving on the USS Pittsburgh. During an inspection, he was recognized for being one of the best in the fleet because of his successful maintenance and operation of submarine communication gear, along with his managing of security clearances.
“Technology is critical to what we do on a daily basis,” ACSA Executive Director Kenneth Miles said. “Thus, we are very fortunate to have him join our team as we continue to define and redefine our vision to be the premiere provider of support services for student-athletes.”
Levesque returns to his alma mater after earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from LSU in 2008.
